Weighing prophecy

Certain leaders may have learned from experience to beware of allowing any particular person to speak without first checking on the nature of the word they intend to bring. Scripture prefers to leave the testing to after the word has been uttered. Furthermore 1 Corinthians 14:29 indicates that the weighing is to be done by other prophets and not by those elders who do not themselves exercise the prophetic gift.
